DESCRIPTION: Barrauds & Lund, Cornhill, London, spring detent pocket chronometer of unusual calibre, 11 jewels, gilt plate movement, the detent with dovetail foot, and free sprung, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws and helical balance spring, in an 18 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel open face case with London hallmark and date letter for the year 1844, and Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #2/828, 50mm, 107.2g TW.
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dent, back; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Originally engine turned, worn smooth; Cover extends beyond 90 degrees when opened, back, 95 deg; Bow worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Restored. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Balance cock with minor pin pricks. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
